Meet Mark
A CPA who believes hardworking people deserve someone who has their back.

How It Started
More than forty years ago, I began my career in public accounting at a traditional CPA firm. Early in my career, I saw that many hardworking individuals and families had straightforward tax questions but couldn’t justify the minimum fees charged by traditional firms.
When someone with a straightforward tax return couldn’t meet that minimum, we often had to turn them away.
Even then, something about that never felt right to me.
Just because someone’s tax return wasn’t complicated didn’t mean they had no questions. It didn’t mean they were comfortable preparing it themselves. And it certainly didn’t mean they didn’t deserve professional help.
A Thought I Couldn’t Shake
After leaving public accounting, I spent my career in manufacturing finance and accounting. Along the way, I continued preparing tax returns for family and friends. What began with helping people I knew gradually grew into a small practice of its own.
As I began planning for retirement from my full-time career, I started thinking seriously about expanding that practice and about the kind of CPA firm I wanted it to become.
As I researched how other solo CPA firms were building their practices, I kept hearing the same message. Again and again, the focus was on business owners, complicated returns, and highly compensated clients.
That brought back the concern I had felt at the beginning of my career. Hardworking people with straightforward tax returns still have questions. They still worry about whether they entered everything correctly. They still wonder whether they missed a deduction. They still deserve someone they can trust.
So I decided to build the practice I always wished existed.
A small practice where clients are known by name, questions are welcomed, every return is carefully prepared and reviewed, and every client can file their taxes with confidence.
What I Believe
These are the principles that guide every conversation, every recommendation, and every tax return I prepare.
You Shouldn’t Have to Become a Tax Expert.
You deserve to know your taxes are done right without having to understand every rule in the tax code yourself.
A Simple Return Can Still Raise Important Questions.
The complexity of your return should not determine whether your concerns deserve thoughtful professional attention.
People Deserve Someone Who Has Their Back.
You should have someone who listens, answers your questions honestly, and is there when the tax system becomes confusing.
The Best Advice Starts with Listening.
Before I offer an answer, I want to understand your situation, your concerns, and what is really behind your question.
What You Can Count On
When you trust me with your tax return, these are the commitments I make to every client.
- I’ll listen before I advise.
- I’ll explain things in plain English.
- If a question requires additional research, I’ll take the time to find the right answer instead of guessing.
- I’ll carefully prepare and review your return before it is filed.
- If I believe another CPA would better serve your needs, I’ll tell you.
- You’ll work directly with me—not a different seasonal preparer each year.
My goal is not simply to prepare your return. It is to help you file with confidence.
Beyond the Office
My wife and I live in Crestwood, Kentucky, where family is an important part of our lives. When I’m not working, I enjoy researching my family’s history, participating in the Sons of the American Revolution, and cheering on the Kentucky Wildcats.
Genealogy has taught me the value of patience, careful research, and following details wherever they lead—qualities that also shape the way I approach my work as a CPA.

Let’s Start with a Conversation.
If you’re looking for a CPA who will listen, answer your questions honestly, and take the time to get things right, I’d be honored to hear your story.
